The Royal Irish Regiment Arrived at Philadelphia on 11 July 1767 from Cork Harbor; the Royal Irish had been stationed in Ireland for the better part of a decade. The last remaining detachment of the Royal Irish was drafted into the 8th (King's) Regiment of Foot in July 1776 at Detroit.
